Marie Louise Shew and Mrs. Maria Poe Clemm: A Photograph.
- Authors
COHEN, PATRICIA CLINE
- Abstract
An essay is presented on the photograph of a mystery woman whom the author assumed to be Maria Poe Clemm. It offers an investigation on the identity of the old lady in the photograph found at the center of a family exhibit in Princeton, New Jersey by Ann Beneduce, a descendant of Marie Louise Shew. The author also looks at the connection of Marie Louis Shew to Edgar Allan Poe's family with the help of Pete Shew of Stockport, Ohio, who was also researching his family history.
