- Title
The Genome Gets Personal--Almost.
- Authors
Feero, W. Gregory; Guttmacher, Alan E.; Collins, Francis S.
- Abstract
The author reflects on the practice of genetic screening for disease. He suggests that the most breathtaking advances relevant to personalized medicine come from genome wide association studies. He argues that despite this, the majority of risk factors discovered through this type of research make only modest contributions to an individual's risk of disease, and that many genetic markers have yet to be discovered.
