- Abstract
The Glostrup Population Studies are a collection of cohort studies conducted in Copenhagen, Denmark since 1964. These studies have explored various health aspects such as cardiovascular diseases, lifestyle, mental health, and chronic conditions. The studies have collected comprehensive datasets and collaborated with other researchers to address current and future health challenges. The studies have examined factors like alcohol and smoking and their effects on allergies, asthma, blood pressure, and heart rate. The data collected from these studies have been used to develop tools for predicting coronary heart disease risk. The studies have also conducted health examinations and follow-ups on different cohorts, collecting data on physical function, muscle strength, heart and lung function, and reaction time. They have also evaluated factors like socioeconomic status, lifestyle, and psychological factors. The studies have measured various biomarkers such as lipids, hematology, metabolism, and inflammatory markers. The studies have been conducted on different age groups and have followed up with participants over several years to track changes in health and lifestyle. The studies have utilized questionnaires, physical examinations, and the collection of various biomarkers to gather data on socioeconomic factors, health, symptoms, diseases, lifestyle, and psychological factors. The studies have measured parameters like blood pressure, pulse, ECG, lipids, hematology, metabolism, liver markers, kidney markers, and genetics. The studies have also conducted assessments such as blood pressure, anthropometry, spirometry, and skin prick tests, as well as analysis of markers for allergies and celiac disease
