- Abstract
The article focuses on the medical needs of Southern Florida following Hurricane Wilma on November 1-2, 2005. Bilingual health workers from the Florida Department of Health, the North Carolina Division of Public Health and other organizations conducted health interviews in Montura Ranch Estates and Pioneer Plantation, Florida. The economic conditions of the communities is described, as well as the methods of contacting hurricane victims. The administration of disaster relief such as food, water and shelter is discussed.
