- Abstract
The article discusses the impact of technology on culture, young people, its acquisition, types of knowledge available, and the school library in Australia. According to Cushla Kapitzke, libraries are not only affected by technological change but as well as social and cultural change. Libraries need to acknowledge and modify its strategy to accommodate cultural shifts. It notes that teacher librarians do not always have the skills and experience in integrating technology and popular culture into learning experience. Eventhough the collection and staff members are reduced, as well as the library materials diminished, it does not mean that its capacity to be a repository and access point for knowledge has decreased.
