- Abstract
The article reports on a study that was conducted to develop and provide a Safe Sleep Toolkit for health care providers that could facilitate a consistent safe-sleep message to caregivers of infants. Topics discussed include the higher infant mortality rate in the U.S. as compared to other countries, the need to focus on the removal of unsafe items from the crib in order to improve safe-sleep practices and the items included in the checklists given to caregivers as part of the toolkit.
