LIONEL ROBBINS: NEOCLASSICAL MAXIMIZER OR PROTO-PRAXEOLOGIST?
- Authors
Salerno, Joseph T.
- Abstract
The article presents the views of Austrian economists on Lionel Robbins' book "An Essay on the Nature and Significance of Economic Science." The author observes that these economists refused to acknowledge the role of Robbins in shaping the modern praxeological paradigm in economics. He cites the belief of Israel Kirzner that Robbins' concept of economics is comparable to neoclassical paradigm of "maximizing."
