The article examines the laws that provides the U.S. courts the authority to interpret an international agreement for the purposes of applying it as law in the country. Topics discussed include domestication of treaty law; laws related to foreign relations and special forbearance to the executive in interpreting; and the U.S. Supreme Court's decision in the case "Hamdan v. Rumsfeld."
