- Abstract
The article reports on the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 that provides investments for health-related programs such as health information technology (HIT) and education and training for primary care physicians. About $500 million is allocated by the stimulus package for health care workforce programs. The stimulus package also grants about $1.1 billion for clinical research to be distributed among the Agency for Healthcare Research and quality, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the National Institutes of Health.
