- Abstract
This essay presents the song "(Untitled) How Does It Feel?" by hip hop and soul singer Michael Archer, known as D'Angelo. It analyzes themes of death and desire in African American men, commenting on seduction and racial violence. The author also analyzes the song's music video, in which D'Angelo appears naked. Other topics include the death of singer Marvin Gaye, Gaye and D'Angelo's relationships with their fathers, and the film "She Hate Me," directed by Spike Lee.
