- Title
Dramatic Values In The Poetry Of Medieval Plays: A Legacy For Shakespeare.
- Authors
Velz, John W.
- Abstract
The article reports on the continuation of William Shakespeare's legacy in the poetry of medieval plays. It reveals that the students of medieval drama have seen in the last two decades how subtle a system typological design can be and how effectively some medieval plays make points through suggestive use of symbolic space. It also notes that the question on artistry extends to the poetry of the plays which still has not been given much attention and the standard anthology of medieval religious drama does not mention "Corpus Christi" plays.
