- Abstract
The article discusses the 2011 outpatient prospective payment system and the ambulatory surgical center payment system (OPPS/ASC) proposed rule implemented by the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Experts state that under the OPPS/ASC proposed rule, a physician-owned hospital can continue to construct operating rooms, procedure rooms, and beds until the effective date of its provider agreement, if its provider agreement is in effect before December 31, 2010.
