The article focuses on anti-Blackness, racism, and colonialism problematize the notion that the university was ever ‘public' in the sense of serving local communities and had input into shaping institutions of higher learning as a site of participatory democracy. It mentions history of universities as sites for producing knowledge and capabilities in service of capitalist imperialism and works at the level of the nation state.
