- Abstract
The article discusses the results of a study which aimed to develop a quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) assay using SBYR Green in quantifying Lawsonia intracellularis in cell culture and pig feces. The researchers designed and evaluated specific primers using the aspartate-lyase (aspA) gene as a target. The researchers found no cross-reactivity of qPCR when the assay was tested using deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) extracted from enteric bacteria found in pig feces.
