- Authors
BEDFORD, IAN
- Abstract
The article discusses the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW) in Australia. The author explains that a study of the social history of the IWW can show how the organization shaped temperaments and society in Australia. The author talks about industrial unionism in reference to the organizational structure of the IWW and to the attitudes and philosophy of members. The distinction between the anarcho-syndicalist movements and the IWW are examined. Subjects of the article also include the American Federation of Labor, competing unions, and the IWW's failure to establish an industrial union organization.
