- Abstract
A meta-analysis conducted by Rodgalski et al. [[3]] agreed that the overall proportion of successful leak or fistula closure, when using SEMS, was 92% (95% I CI i , (90-95%), having an improved successful rate when looking at the bypass gastric group - 96% - which was our patient's case. Key points • SEMS has higher post-bariatric complication curative rates. Discussion Endoscopic techniques have become the first-line therapy in bariatric surgery-related complications such as leaks and fistulas [[3]], since they are less invasive and allow for earlier enteral feeding, shorter hospital stay rates, and lower costs.
