- Title
DO SACRED COWS MAKE THE BEST HAMBURGERS? THE LEGAL REGULATION OF RELIGIOUS SLAUGHTER OF ANIMALS.
- Authors
BRUCE, ALEX
- Abstract
The article discusses the religious, legal, and philosophical issues concerning the attempts for the regulation of animals' religious ritual slaughter, particularly in Australia. It states that the regulation of the practice is a concern in which Australia needs to deal with. It suggests that although more scientific studies have suggested that animals feel more pain with religious ritual slaughter, the government has not been successful in prohibiting the practice by legislative approach.
