- Abstract
An essay is presented on the judge-as-umpire analogy. It explores the core aspects of Supreme Court adjudication as well as discusses the public's conceptualisation of the role of the Justice. The author describes the appropriateness and robustness of the commentator analogy, concluding how sports commentating can be analyzed using tools developed to examine judicial decisionmaking.
