Title
Phoenix lander plays it safe.
Abstract
The article reports that the Mars lander of the U.S. National Aeronautics & Space Administration (NASA), Phoenix went into safe mode in October 2008. It is believed that going into safe mode was in response to the low power resulting from low surface temperatures and decreased sunlight near the north pole. In such circumstances, Phoenix also switched off one of its batteries and changed to a redundant set of electronics.
