- Title
Location, Location, Location: Spending Differences for Biologic and Biosimilar Medications by Site of Treatment.
- Authors
Fronstin, Paul; Roebuck, M. Christopher
- Abstract
The article discusses the pricing differences and cost implications of biologic medications and biosimilars based on the site of treatment. It highlights that while the use of biosimilars is increasing and can potentially lead to savings, the markups on biologics in hospital outpatient departments (HOPDs) are higher than those on biosimilars, impacting cost savings and hindering the full potential of biosimilar competition.
