- Abstract
The article describes specimens of a lawsonite from Marin County, California. The specimens were comprised of a matrix of glaucophanse schist with small cavities that contain crystals of lawsonite, pyrite and rutile needles. Their gemological properties include light pink, or near colorless to grayish blue and inert to long- and short-wave ultraviolet radiation fluorescence. It is noted that numerous crystals, clouds, feathers and fingerprints in all the samples were revealed by microscopic examination.
