- Abstract
In order to explore the flame retardant properties of polyimide fabrics, the polyimide fabrics were subjected to some experiments, such as limiting oxygen index, thermal protection properties (TPP), thermogravimetry-infrared (TGA-FTIR), smoke density, and cone calorimeter. The thermal behavior experiment of fire field was eompared with flame retardant eotton fabrie and aramid IIIA flame retardant fabric. The results showed that the polyimide fabric had the highest limiting oxygen index value in the three fabrics and the TPP value was slightly lower than that of the aramid IIIA; In the thermogravimetric-infrared (TGA-FTIR) combination test of polyimide fabric, the polyimide fabric had excellent heat resistance, and pyrolysis occurred at about 528, and it still remained sample quality of around 60% after 800 ; In the smoke density experiment, the initial specific optical density value of the polyimide was the smallest, but it had a large amount of smoke. Finally, it was concluded from the cone calorimeter experiment, the heat resistance of the polyimide was the best in the fire field, and the heat release rate and the total release heat was minimal, its comprehensive thermal performance was best.
