- Abstract
The article provides an analysis of sports press in Slovenia. It notes that the analysis reveals commonly held national stereotypes of soccer in the state and their functioning in people's national identification practices. An insight into the press coverage of the sport provides a detailed view of the dynamics of the Slovenian nation-building process. It also discusses several reports on soccer in the Slovenian press.
