The article discusses how international picture books are a powerful vehicle for teachers to foster development of intercultural knowledge among children. It is stated that the greatest benefit of using international literature with children is the ways in which it supports access to literary mirrors to the world. It is noted that international picture books can be used in classroom libraries and can also be integrated into the curriculum.
