- Abstract
The article presents a study which compares peripheral blood smear, quantitative buffy coat, and immunochromatography and enzyme linked immunosorbent assay in malaria detection. The study analyzed sensitivity and specificity of the test method used in diagnosing 200 clinically suspected malaria patients. The study found that quantitative buffy coat is the most suitable rapid test while peripheral blood smear is highly reliable.
