- Abstract
Introducción: La relación de SFA/MUFA/PUFA es de 1/2/1 en suero de mujeres alimentadas con una dieta sana, y estos valores pueden ser indicativos de salud y permiten un perfil de protección contra las enfermedades cardiovasculares. Objetivos: Determinar si existen diferencias entre marcadores del estado nutricional de ácidos grasos entre niños control y niños con trastornos neurológicos sin alteración metabólica conocida. Material y métodos: Se han analizado los Índices de ácidos grasos marcadores del estado nutricional y proinflamatorio de 35 muestras de niños control y 374 de niños con alteraciones neurológicas. Los ácidos grasos han sido extraídos del suero y de los fosfolípidos de membrana y separados y cuantificados mediante GC y detección de masas. Resultados y discusión: Los resultados están expresados en figura siguiente, observándose un claro incremento de los ácidos grasos n-6 en el grupo de paciente neurológicos en suero, cambios propios de las enfermedades inflamatorias, y obesidad y en fosfolípidos de membrana con posibles repercusiones a nivel de la estructura y composición de la membrana. Conclusión: El índice n6/n3 es mucho mayor en el grupo de niños con trastornos neurológicos, indicando un déficit nutricional de ácidos n-3 y un mayor riesgo inflamatorio.
