- Abstract
The article evaluates whether California Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) for abating greenhouse gas emissions provides a non-discriminatory provisions for Canadian oil sands under the World Trade Organization, an international trade organization and General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) norms. It gives a brief overview of Canadian oil sand industry and related environmental impact of its operations. It concludes that the standards are inconsistent with WTO and GATT standards.
