- Title
OPTIMAL MANAGEMENT OF ACL INJURY IN 2007 -- PART 1.
- Authors
Williams, Andy
- Abstract
This article examines anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries and says they are often misdiagnosed and sometimes mismanaged. The pre-disposing factors to ACL injury are discussed followed by the possible reasons that women get the injury more often than men. Tests are suggested for diagnosis including the Lachman Test and the pivot shift test. Patient history is an important factor in making a diagnosis along with physical examination and medical imaging. Management techniques are presented.
