- Abstract
The article offers information on the challenges faced in providing developmental care for premature infants in the NICU, particularly due to social disadvantages and obstacles faced by NICU providers. Topics include unrealistic expectations placed on parents, disparities in income and access to resources, lack of family support networks, cultural and language differences, childcare issues, visiting hour restrictions, and the impact of social workers on under-resourced families.
