The author focuses on why high schools should put up gardens on their premises. She explains the benefits that a school garden offers for a high school including the opportunity for practicing sustainable and practical living and the chance to get closer to nature. She lists down the steps in which a high school can create its very own school garden including where to place the garden, how to financially provide for its creation, and having the students' parents and members of the faculty participate in the construction of the garden.
