- Abstract
The aim of this investigation was to define consistent pattern of distribution of leptospira serogroups in cattle and to establish geographical distribution of Leptospira in Lithuania. Laboratory investigations were carried out by micro-agglutination test. The results showed that antibodies against Leptospira Grippotyphosa (32.46 %), Leptospira Hebdomadis (25.42 %) ser. Kabura and Leptospira Sejroe (18.98 %) ser. Poland were the most prevalent in cattle blood sera. Highest serological diversity of different leptospira serogroups were observed at the Central and Northern counties of the republic. Only one serogroup - Leptospira Grippotyphosa was found at the Klaipėda county. Leptospira Tarrasovi was found only at Panevėžys county and were did not detected at any other county. In Lithuania about 7% of all tested cattle had antibody titers against Leptospira. This level was observed yearly independent of the number of tested animals.
