- Abstract
This article presents a didactic proposal to improve the teaching of general physics in the Civil Engineering career. Deficiencies were identified in the selection of knowledge and the lack of connection with the disciplines specific to engineering. The proposal includes the selection of relevant knowledge for civil engineering and the incorporation of exercises and practical problems in classes. The movement of a vehicle in a curve is discussed, and a problem related to the maximum and minimum speed of a car in a curve with a specific radius and banking angle is presented. Additionally, a pedagogical experiment is mentioned that showed better learning results in the experimental group compared to the control group. It is recommended to improve the experimental activity and expand the knowledge of modern physics in the discipline's program.
