- Abstract
The article reports on the approval of an energy-efficiency legislation approved by the state Senate of Washington in 2009. The bill demands new buildings and major retrofits to use less energy. The approval of the bill is said to target the reduction on the amount of overall energy consumption by 70 percent through 2031. With a 42-5 vote, the bill has been approved calling for utilities to track how much energy large commercial and public buildings consume.
