- Abstract
The article describes the case of a one year old intact male Estrela mountain dog whose family had a history of DCM-related deaths presented as part of a screening program for dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM). It cites the echocardiography and ECG as helpful tools in identifying the occult phase in Estrela mountain dogs. It indicates a correlation between DCM and sinoatrial dysfunction and suggests long-term follow-up of more dogs to better characterize DCM in Estrela mountain dog.
