- Abstract
The article offers information on the observation of Decatur, Alabama-based Solutia Inc. on how far color technology has evolved in the past 20 years for Acrilan colored fiber production. It states that although the on-line color technology which the company has been using is antiquated the personnel of the company made modifications that permitted the system to remain very efficient. The processes involved in the modification of the coloring technology are also discussed. Lastly, it is also mentioned that state-of-the-art color evaluation and monitoring technology offers many advantages in comparison with the color technology used in the 1970s.
