- Abstract
The article presents findings of a study on the seismic response control of buildings with two-way asymmetric-plan subjected to bi-directional ground motions. It proposes bi-directional coupled tuned mass dampers (BiCTMDs) to be used for two-way asymmetric-plan buildings. It notes that the performance of BiCTMDs is verified through the investigation of amplitude reductions of the related frequency response functions. It indicates that BiCTMD is an effective approach in the reduction of seismic damage of both elastic and inelastic two-way asymmetric-plan buildings.
