- Abstract
The article "Journal Club" presents a study on the effectiveness of a vaccine against the Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) in older adults. RSV is a common cause of respiratory infections and complications in older people, but there is currently no approved vaccine against it. In the placebo-controlled Phase 3 study, participants aged 60 years or older received either the RSV vaccine or a placebo. The results showed a high efficacy of the vaccine against RSV-associated respiratory diseases and good tolerability. The vaccination could thus be a promising option for older adults to prevent RSV infections.
