The author reviews two research studies on claritin-mediated endocytosis. Topics discussed are the interaction of the membrane-deforming protein called endophilin with membrane-bound receptors, fast endophilin-mediated endocytosis (FEME) entry mechanism, the mechanism by which receptor activation causes endocytosis, and the hijack of the FEME pathway by Shiga and cholera toxins binding to the cell membrane.
