- Title
Penguin Ranch: Scientists and Emperors in Antarctica.
- Authors
Stockard, Torre
- Abstract
The article relates the author's experience in studying the diving physiology of emperor penguins in Antarctica. When the film "March of the Penguins" was released, people have regained a much clearer sense of the life cycle of penguins as well as their reproduction. The author with other scientists, underwent several orientations and safety training upon arrival at the McMurdo Sound. When traveling outside of town, they always carry a bag with equipment and food to last for a couple of days. In studying emperor penguins, they learned that penguins do not fear humans or machinery.
