- Title
Remote sensing of volumetric storage changes in lakes.
- Authors

- Abstract
The article focuses on the significance of three-dimensional remote sensing in surface-water hydrology in the same way that radar altimetry transformed physical oceanography in the lakes of Peace-Athabasca Delta, Alberta. The complex geometries of small terrestrial water bodies give difficulties in terms of trade-offs between changing water depth and inundation area. It was found out that lateral contraction or expansion contributes as little as 7% to as much as 76% overall storage change.
