- Abstract
Telicota ohara ohara (Plötz) is recorded from Batavia Landing, approximately 50 km north of Weipa on the western coast of Cape York Peninsula for the first time. The butterfly was previously thought to be restricted to north-eastern Queensland with the closest recorded location on Cape York Peninsula being Kutini-Payamu (Iron Range) National Park. Our records extend the known range of the butterfly some 165 km west-north-west of Iron Range. Vanessa kershawi (McCoy) is recorded from near Portland Roads, Cape York, Queensland and Hasora hurama hurama (Butler) is recorded from Chilli Beach, Iron Range, Cape York for the first time extending the known range of both species approximately 375 km north-west of Cooktown, Queensland.
