- Title
Uncertainty Over DAT Testing.
- Authors
Schmidt, Charlie
- Abstract
The article explores the uncertainty over the use of direct-access testing (DAT) in diagnosing colon cancer. The number of DAT companies that sell blood screening capabilities to the U.S. public has increased. These companies recruit physicians or nurses to conduct such testing. Linz Mansfield, an official of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), noted the limited jurisdiction of federal regulators over the DAT industry.
