- Title
How Research Influences Policy Makers: Still Hazy After All These Years.
- Authors
Lewis, Steven
- Abstract
The author comments on the article "Communicating Evidence-Based Information on Cancer Prevention to State-Level Policy Makers," by R. C. Brownson, E. A. Dodoson et al., published within the issue. He claims that the study did not fully achieve its aim of contributing to the understanding of how research affects policy makers. He notes that this is due to design issues such as choice of subject matter of the policy briefs and the definition of the word "use" in the study, as well as a lack of critical depth.
