- Abstract
The article discusses research study on human papillomavirus (HPV) screening and treatment. It references a study by Thomas C. Wright and colleagues, published in "The Journal of the National Cancer Institute." The study included 6,637 unscreened South African women, aged 35 to 56 years. It found that women in South Africa who underwent HPV DNA-based testing or visual inspection of the cervix and received cryotherapy have significantly reduced precursors of high grade cervical cancer.
