- Title
Jewish Mysticism Alterable and Unalterable: On Orienting Kabbalah Studies and the "Zohar of Christian Spain"
- Authors
Anidjar, Gil
- Abstract
The article analyzes the key moments in the field of Kabbalah Studies. The repeatedly inscribed, structural fissure or tear at the heart of Kabbalah or Jewish mysticism Studies is explored. Some of the more philosophical baggage carried and sustained by the word "myth" was drawn out in the discourse of Kabbalah Studies. The place that Jewish mysticism holds in the modern imagination can be readily measured by the space it has come to occupy in the public sphere and in general discussions in the humanities and social sciences.
