The article discusses the ancient Minoan civilization on Crete, in modern day Greece. It examines Minoan ruler Minos, the Palace of Knossos, and palatial civilization. The author also comments on the periods known as the Early Minoan, Middle Minoan, and Late Minoan eras, noting that the first inhabitants were seafaring peoples. Other topics include the Minoans' social structure, sanitary culture, and script. Minoan religion is also considered, and comparisons between Greek and Minoan divine figures are presented.
