Job references are a crucial component of the process of employing competent, trustworthy staff and district nurses will be required to write and take up references for staff that leave and join their teams. Writing a job reference is not always a simple matter, and care must be taken to ensure reliability and truthfulness. In this article Richard Griffith and Cassam Tengnah look at the legal requirements for a job reference.
