- Abstract
An introduction to the journal is presented that focuses on the political and economic dynamics that drive, hamper, and shape the use of criminal law to regulate abortion in the understudied Middle East and North Africa region, with topics covered such as how abortion is politicized through its association with illegal pregnancy, the strategies of Lebanese women to get abortion care, and the legal, social, and medical constraints that poor women in Tunisia face where abortion is legal.
