- Abstract
The article focuses on the continued relevance and necessity of religious studies and religious literacy in understanding global events, particularly in intersectional contexts involving gender and sexuality studies and anti-colonial studies. It examines Pope Francis's progressive yet sometimes contradictory approach to social issues and critiques the Vatican's stance on "gender theory" and "gender ideology."
