- Title
What constitutes restraint?
- Authors
Clarke Z; Elford H
- Abstract
In this article, the authors argue in support of the adoption of a broad definition of restraint in the treatment of people with learning disabilities. Various definitions of the term "restraint" are presented, along with the implications of varied definitions for practices. The authors argue that having a wide definition of restraint creates an opportunity to scrutinize all practices and ensure that nothing is missed.
